Working Group

The dogs in the Working Group are strong and brave and they use these qualities to help people. The dogs are broadly divided into four areas: the guarding or protecting breeds, the carting breeds, the rescue breeds, and the sledding breeds.

Regardless of their original job, all the Working breeds are known for their intelligence and hardiness. These dogs have a history of being invaluable to humans for the work they perform. Besides being intelligent, capable, and strong, these dogs make solid and dependable companions.

Because of the size and strength of these animals, it is important that any of these breeds be properly trained (for their happiness and their families). These working dogs don't always make the best pet for the average family unless you have the experience and time to dedicate to their needs, including the proper training required to have a disciplined, well-behaved and focused dog.

My name is "Buddy" and I'm a yellow lab. My favorite thing to do is fetch a ball. I also like to bark at cars and go swimming in the lake whenever I can. It's great to be a dog!
